Friday Funnies

A podcast I listen to frequently talks about movies and moviemaking and inside stories behind how movies were made and such (something I love listening to). One of the topics recently discussed were funny scenes that made it into mainstream movies that were oddly left in despite being just weird. Here's a smattering of some that I found particularly funny, where movies (by accident or on purpose) possess some sly sexual moments if you look close enough.

First up is a clip from Back to the Future III, where a kid in the background gets a little ... instructive ... with the camera.

Dipping back into fanboy lore, even the great Harrison Ford couldn't avoid a little stop-short action with Carrie Fisher in Return of the Jedi.

And it's not just in older movies. Newer flicks, like Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban even slid in a little adult humor into the credits.

A classic comes from another Michael J. Fox film, Teen Wolf. Not sure what the hell this guy was thinking. Or doing for that matter.

On the Menu

Because apparently the restaurant Ketchup offers appetizers, entrees, dessert and then dessert by Asian massage. You stay classy, Ketchup.

Idiot of the Day

When Kelly and I went and saw The Pains of Being Pure at Heart in concert a few weeks back, we got there early enough to check out the opening act. I don't remember the band's name off the top of my head, nor am I going to hunt it down on the Internet because, frankly, they sucked. I mean REALLY sucked. Donald Trump hairstyle level of sucking. OK, it was probably worse than that.

In any case, the real reason I posted this is because of the band's bass player. At the start of the show, he was donning a letterman's jacket from either a high school or a college or something. I could have cared less, until three songs in he took it off to reveal the main portion of his on-stage attire:

A shiny, teal wife beater.

Oh yeah, it was frickin' laaaaame looking. If the letterman's jacket was some kind of clue to his outfit being a costume, I missed the point of it altogether. What I didn't miss was Kelly, Mike R., Mel B and I cracking awful jokes about him long after the shitty music of their's ended and the had left the stage. Note to rock band members: Don't wear metallic teal wife beaters. It's not going to get you laid, and that is the singular reason you are in your band to begin with. Idiot.

Idiot of the Day

Don't want to be insulted on live TV about your manhood? Try to avoid opening up the door for discussion. Though, to be fair, she's still a heartless wench for going there for a cheap laugh.

Seattle Police Beating

It's no Rodney King, mind you, but it's pretty gnarly watching a cop beat up a girl just for flicking her shoe at him. There's no audio, but I doubt she said anything he hadn't heard before.
